A little freedom = 2 ridiculous purchases

I am a SAHM but I have no complaints that I don't get out often enough.  I do.  And by out, I mean OUT.  Like, without kids.  Without having to do carseats.  Or hold anyone's hand.  Or order a milk at dinner.  Chris is superdad so if he's home I can head out for whatever reason and for whatever length of time.  He's so busy that it's not all that often, but often enough that my freedom bank is full.  And it's not as if I ditch him with the kids when he walks through the door.  That's hardly the case but I'm just saying that I'm not going-out-deprived.  Sometimes it's like a long drink of water on a hot day, though, you know?  You just didn't know you needed it 'til you did it.  That was yesterday for me.

Yesterday afternoon I went out with three of my friends.  We went to an early dinner and then perused the mall.  A couple of us got our make-up done.  I had my eyes done and ended up buying this:

This is what it looked like:

I know, it's black and white.  In color my wrinkles were WAY too noticeable so you'll just have to imagine the colors in the kit above on my eyes.  It was pretty.  Watch out, Costco!  I'm going to be looking hotter than ever on my next shopping trip!

I also bought this:

We're hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas and mom always makes a mean gravy but this is supposed to be to-die-for.  Have you ever had it?  If so, I'd love to hear from you.  This is just the base, you add some of the goods to it, but it's apparently amazing.  And if you're like me, the gravy is the meal.  I spent $40 on gravy last night.  Don't tell Chris.  He'd divorce me.

I'd like to give a BIG hello to my readers in Great Britain, France, and Saudi Arabia!

  1. That gravy better help with the dishes afterward dinner if it's worth $40. Yikes! Yeah, my dad would flip if he ever thought my mom did it. I can her him now,"Woman! Why in the hell did you spend $40 on cotton-pickin' gravy?!" Gotta love him.

  2. Being the gavey maker, I'll be anxious to try it, unless it's your turn this year.
