Sure signs of Fall

How do we know it's Fall?  The once-a-week 80* weather doesn't really give it away but these do:
  • sleeping to the sound of a coughing baby on the monitor
  • freezing in the morning, hot in the afternoon, freezing at night
  • it's dark much earlier and even though the time hasn't changed, the bedtime has.  Shhh.  Don't tell them.
  • pumpkin patch with the kids!
  • pumpkin bread at Starbucks, William's favorite
  • the top shelf of the fridge has 2 bottles of syurpy antibiotics on it, to be take twice daily by the little people here who are sick.
  • flu shots, which apparently work really well.  Not.
  • neat crafty school projects that come home and are seasonally festive
  • the backyard is littered with little leaves from all the birch trees and it's beautiful
  • sweaters, rugby shirts, and sneakers
  • beginning to use the line, "Santa is listening and watching ALL the time now."
How do you really know it's Fall in your house?
