Is this ballsy or lame?

Subtitle:  How to exploit your dead father to try and get sympathy for your sorry ass.

Nike aired a new TV commercial Wednesday featuring Tiger Woods and the voice of his late father, an edgy move that calls out his personal problems on the eve of his return to competitive golf.

The ad aired on ESPN and the Golf Channel just one day before the Masters begins.
In the stark, black-and-white ad, a solemn Woods looks directly into the camera without speaking while a recording of his late father is heard, speaking about taking responsibility.

I think what his father should have said was, "Tiger, why did you F it all up?  And going to sex rehab for 45 days doesn't make you an honorable man again."

  1. Ballsy and I like it. I think it's an acknowledgement that his dad would have been VERY disappointed with the course he's taken. Nothing hits the heart of a man more than a disappointed father he's respected.

  2. LAME.
He's a cheater, a so-called sex addict, a womanizer and NOW he's exploiting his dead father to try to redeem his reputation and keep his very lucrative ad deal. The quote is taken out of context -- has to be because the father is dead -- to play on people's emotions.

  3. Lame. Lame. Lame. I agree with Hillary. It's exploiting his dead father.
It's ridiculous. He tried to show himself as a role model and he obviously isn't. I don't think you can repair something like this and become a role model again no matter how many times you admit to effing up, no matter how many times you say you're sorry, no matter how many self effacing commercials you make.
You want to play golf. Fine, go play golf. By your image is tarnished forever.
