As I've mentioned a few times before, this is the 5th year in a row the kids and I have walked. Each year I've set my fundraising goal at $750. This year my generous friends and family put me beyond that number so I ambitiously raised it to $1,000. The grand total of money donated to our family's efforts was $1,261. Isn't that amazing? Enormous thanks to each person who donated in honor of, memory of, or support of someone they know who has been touched by cancer. In our community, I was #5 on the list of top fundraising participants (not affiliated with any team). Thank you.
Chris's parents and his Grandma were here visiting this weekend so we all walked together. In fact, we had a very busy weekend together with relaying (you like that?) being our first stop.
A pictoral summary:
No better way to honor mom and Aunt Debbie than to wear our Red Sox garb.

Relaying (see? I like it as a verb.)
After RFL, we went to Oakland to see Chris at the firehouse, Great Grandma B's first time.
When we go see Chris at the station, we always head out to the airport fire station to stand on the tarmac and watch the planes land and take off.
After RFL and visiting the firehouse we went to the hotel where Great Grandma B was staying and swam in the pool. Here are all 3 kids with Grandpa in the spa.

Ellen and I signed up for the CPS-3 study, have you? If not, you should look into it. The paperwork took about 15 minutes to fill out and they didn't want any family history, it was all about just the person filling out the paperwork. We had our waists measured and blood drawn and that was it. Simple. And important.
We'll relay again next year, and the year after, and the year after. Thanks to all my friends and family who made this year our most successful evah.
